CLUB FAQ’s
How does the process work if we decide to host a Qualifier?
Step 1 – Registers on www.ipgolf.co.za look for the register tab at the top of the page, click on the Registration form, complete and submit.
Step 2 – We will be in contact to arrange posters and send entrants Golf Balls for your Qualifier. (2 Golf balls per player)
Step 4 – On the day of the qualifier Golfers will pay a once off R100 per player.
Step 5 – After your event, normally Monday’s, Clubs will submit their event results via our online Qualifier Results form found on the registration page: www.ipgolf.co.za/register
From when can clubs enter to host a qualifier?
Qualifying seasons starts 15 January 2024 until 30 June 2024.
How do my players get invited to the next stage if they qualify?
Once the club has submitted the Qualifier Results form found on the registration page, we will be in contact with the players and invite them to the next stage.
How many pairs go through to the Regional Events from the club qualifiers?
For every 30 Players (15 pairs) that enters the club qualifier, 1 pair qualifies for the regional final. Eg; 90 players = 3 pairs invited to regional finals.
How many qualifiers can a club host during a season?
A club can host up to 4 Qualifiers during the season. The club will receive posters and golf balls for each qualifier hosted. Thus, giving your member 4 chances at going through to the Regional finals.
What is included in my Club Qualifiers?
Each club will recieve the appropriate amount of 2-Ball Sleeve golf balls for each qualifier, along with a club event poster, and a digital promotional pack for social media and sendouts.
Each club will also receive the player registration online form that the participants on the day need to complete to be eligible for further stages of the tournament.
Do players need to sign up or register on the day?
Apart from paying the R100 SBPIPSA competition fee on the day, players will need to complete an online registration form to be eligible for further stages of the event. This form will be sent to all clubs and can be printed and placed near registration for players to scan and complete.
Upon players registering for the qualifier, they will automatically be entered into monthly giveaways for exclusive prizes
How do my members enter for the monthly Lucky Draws?
Upon hosting a qualifier at your club, you will receive a printable A4 page with a QR code and a link that players can scan to register for the event. Registered players will automatically be entered into monthly lucky draws for exclusive prizes.
How do we host a Regional Final Event?
- Players from other clubs are allowed to partake in the club qualifying event and receive their 2-ball sleeve, but will not be allowed to proceed to the next stage of Regional Finals.
- Only players/members from your club will be allowed to qualify for the next stage, that is Regional Finals.
- Only if the club where the player is handicapped, does not host a club qualifying event, the player is allowed to qualify for regional finals via other Standard Bank Private International Pairs Club qualifiers. The pair must still consist of two players from the same club in order to qualify for the next stage of regional final events.
My players that qualified are not available for Regional Finals, can I replace them?
Yes, The club is allowed to replace a player or team if the qualifying team is not available to play on the day. With exception of the below:
If one player from a team is not able to partake in the Regional Final, that player may be substituted by another. As long as the replacement player played in the same qualifier on the day of qualification and is from the same club.

When is the qualifying season?
- The qualifying time period is from 15 January 2024 – 30 June 2024
- Each club can host up to 4 qualifying events
- You can request your next Standard Bank Private International Pairs Qualifier from your club.
Who can play in the qualifying events?
The tournament is open to all golfers of eighteen years or older at the time of the Club Qualifying event who are affiliated members of a SAGA/GOLFRSA affiliated Golf Club and have an official handicap index.
What is the costs to play in the Standard Bank Private International Pairs?
Players only pay a once off fee of R100 at their club qualifier on the day. All players that enter will receive 2 golf balls. There are no further costs should players qualify for any stages after the club qualifier. (exeption to travel costs to the regional events)
Do I need to register or sign up?
Apart from paying the R100 SBPIPSA competition fee on the day at your club, players will need to complete an online registration form to be eligible for further stages of the event. This form will be sent to all clubs and will be visible near registration and on the golfbox sleeve received for players to scan and complete.

Can I play a club qualifier at another golf club and not my home club?
Only if the club where the player is handicapped, does not host a club qualifying event, the player is allowed to play in other Standard Bank Private International Pairs Club qualifiers. The pair must still consist of two players from the same club in order to qualify for the next stage of regional final events.
What format is played at the qualifying events?
The competition can be played in any Better Ball format as long as the scores are able to be entered into the HNA (Handicap Network Africa) system.
My Club does not host Standard Bank Private International Pairs Qualifiers, can I still participate?
Yes, only if the club where the player is handicapped, does not host a club qualifying event, then the player is allowed to play and qualify for regional finals via other Standard Bank Private International Pairs Club qualifiers.
The pair must still consist of two players from the same club in order to qualify for the next stage of regional final events.
Can I play in more than 1 Qualifier?
Yes, each club is allowed to host up to 4 qualifying events. This gives golfers 4 chances at qualifying for the Regional Finals.

If my Partner and I qualify at my club what happens next ?
- Players that qualify at the club qualifier events will be invited to the Regional finals where you will play for a spot at the South African final
Where can we see the upcoming events?
Events will be updated weekly on the Event Diary on our website: https://ipgolf.co.za/upcoming-events/ , or on Facebook and Instagram.
How do I enter for the monthly Lucky Draws?
Players can scan the registration QR code at the club’s registration desk or pro shop to register for the SBPIPSA event. Registered players will automatically be entered into monthly lucky draws for exclusive Prizes.
What is the next stage after club qualifying events?
We have a number of Regional Finals each year.
No payment is required at the Regional Finals, where all costs, including green fees, players’ halfway house, snacks and some drink/s are covered. (Caddies or carts, where applicable are for the players’ own accounts, as well as the player’s transport/travel to this stage.)
What is the next stage after Regional Finals?
Players that qualify at the Regional Finals will be invited to the Standard Bank Private International Pairs South African Final.
No payment is required at the South African Final. All costs including air travel, accommodation, all meals, green fees, drinks and other surprises are covered. (Caddies or carts where applicable are for the players’ own account).
What happens after the South African Final?
Players that qualify at the South African Final will be invited to the International Pairs World Final, where they will represent team South Africa and their club against 30+ other countries.
No payment is required at the International Pairs World Final. All costs including air travel, accommodation, all meals, green fees, drinks and other surprises are covered. (Caddies or carts where applicable are for the players’ own account).
